Dr. Lorraine J. Haricombe

Dr. Lorraine Haricombe is Vice Provost and Director of the University of Texas Libraries.

She previously served as Vice Provost and Director from the Kansas University Libraries from 2006-2015, and has held administrative positions in the libraries at Northern Illinois University and Peninsula Technikon in the Republic of South Africa. Haricombe holds doctoral and master’s degrees in library and information science from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. She also earned a teacher certification from the University of South Africa, an honors graduate degree in library and information science from the University of the Western Cape in South Africa and a bachelor’s degree in library and information science, psychology and sociology from the University of the Western Cape.

Haricombe holds memberships in the American Library Association, the Association of College and Research Libraries, the Library Administration and Management Association and the Association of American University Women. She is on the editorial board of Communicate, Journal of LIS (Nigeria), the editorial board of the Beta Phi Mu Monograph Series, the Service Quality Academy (LibQual+) selection committee and the 2006-07 ALA conference planning committee.

Linda Abbey

Linda Abbey currently works for the University of Texas Libraries as the Constituent and Donor Relations Officer. A proud graduate of Washington State University’s Murrow School of Communications, she worked in the Seattle radio market before moving into the education field.  Prior to joining the Libraries in 2005, Linda served as an Associate Director of Development at The Pennsylvania State University.

Doug Barnett

Doug Barnett currently works for the University of Texas Libraries, where he serves as Chief of Staff for the Vice Provost. Doug received his BA from the University’s Plan II program and later completed an MA in Geography at UT Austin.  Before coming to the Libraries, he worked as a research associate with the Center for Studies in Texas History and with the Texas State Historical Association, where he was Assistant Director for Research & Information Services.  During that period he served as managing editor for the New Handbook of Texas, a six-volume encyclopedia of Texas history, and for its online version which was developed in collaboration with the University Libraries, as well as project director for the Association’s Texas history portal project – the Digital Gateway to Texas History.  In 2005, Doug joined the University Libraries, serving as project manager for the UTOPIA web portal project and as Chief Communications Officer before accepting his current position.

Natalie Moore

Natalie currently works for UT Libraries, where she is leading the Libraries’ development efforts. Natalie comes to us from the Butler School of Music, where she also worked in Development. Prior to working at UT, Natalie worked with the Round Rock Symphony, Cordovan Art School, and The Long Center for Performing Arts. She holds a Master of Science in Arts Administration from Boston University. During her time in Boston, she held positions at both Yamaha Music School of Boston and the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Natalie completed her Bachelor of Arts in Music at Southwestern University in Georgetown, where she established and directed the first and second SU Arts Festival.

Travis Willmann

Travis is the communications officer for the 11 branches of The University of Texas Libraries. He’s a writer and editor of the libraries’ biannual newsletter, and edits the monthly staff UPDATE.
